Barossa Go-Kart Club
Come and Try Day Sunday 15 January 2012

Ever wondered what it’s like to experience driving a real racing go kart or maybe taking it up as a sport well here’s your chance.

The Barossa Go Kart Club in conjunction with Australian Karting Association of South Australian are holding a Come & try day at the club’s Nuriootpa Robinson Park raceway, Belvidere rd.  Entry is only $10 per person, karts and all racing attire provided but if you have you have your own helmet you are welcome to bring to along. All driver’s will be briefed and provided with driving instructions before you are given your own turn at hitting the circuit.

Catering for ages 7 years and above.

Life Time Club Members 2010

Life Time Club Members Awarded for 2010

Two new life members of the Barossa Go Kart Club were announced by President Steve Blee and Vice President John Ellis at the Festival State Cup Presentation night. In front of a large gathering of South Australian go karters Chris Whibley and Simon Granfield were presented with their life membership and badge.

Vice President John Ellis commented that "Chris Whibley has been the driving force and energy behind the club and much that has been achieved by the club would not be possible without Chris's drive and enthusiasm".

Simon Granfield was recognised by the club for his outstanding service to the Barossa Go Kart Club, serving on the committee for over a decade. "Simon's ability to handle delicate negotiations and his considerable skills as a wordsmith has served the club well" President Steve Blee noted in presenting the life member awards.

Barossa Go-Kart Club President's Award for 2010

The Barossa Go Kart Club President's award is typically awarded for non sporting achievements and service to the club.

This year’s recipient of the President’s award is Frank Chessell.
Past recipients have been Chris Whibley, Cheryl Ellis, Duane Reynolds and Simon Granfield.

Frank has worked consistently for over a decade serving on the Barossa Club committee and has brought special practical skills and organisational skills to the club.

"Frank works without fanfare, often in behind the scenes and recognition for Frank Chessell is well overdue." President Steve Blee said in presenting the 2010 award.
